Mr. Joe Sulzer has struck out in my opinion.   He constantly attacks citizens at council meetings and doesn't really know how to maintain his composer.  Now he is attacking the fire fighters of this community.  He put our safety at risk with the Red Light Cameras.  He has put us on the hook for millions of dollars with the purchase of the new AEP building.

Now the man that claims to be so in favor of our safety wants to continue keeping less fire protection around for the citizens.  He now wants to make statements like "I'm sorry if the firefighters think they're special." What he doesn't understand is we employ him as well as the firefigthers.  Police and fire protection should be the last cuts to ever be made.  Because that is the role of government to protect.

Citizens do you really want to sit around and find out what is next on Joes agenda.  I sure don't.

Let me ask you this question.  If the Chief of Police is allowed to speak in a politically motivated ad to support a private company then why can't our own firefighters speak to us the citizens (employers) in a public forum.  Come on Joe what are you trying to hide?

A recent poll by WKKJ gave the Mayor a failing grade.  Now the question becomes, are you ready recall Mayor Joe Sulzer?

Procedure for recall can be found here.

From the Gazette "Sulzer said no one from the union spoke with him recently about the issue, and added if employees don't like administrative decisions it does not give them a right to speak with council." My thought is, because they are citizens don't they have the right to approach council about matters of safety concerning the city????

Thank You for including the link to the email. I'm going to refer everyone here if you don't mind. In November I contacted the State Ethics Commision and received valuable information. The goal since then is documenting Sulzer's actions and indentifying possible breaches of law. Fortunately, there are several people who already have the documentation, so it's just a matter of correllating it with the current civil rights abuses. We should also consider circulating a Petition to Recall with the goal of having enough signatures within the next 60 days. Having flyers and/or petitions available outside the Municipal Court Building during the next Council meeting would probably be a good start. Any other ideas???

I can't believe we have an elected city official who communicates with our citizens in this manner. The whole video is pretty surprising to me but it really heats up around 4:04.

In my opinion the best candidate would be one that is fresh. Has never really experienced a political forum and just knows right from wrong. I think it is time for this type of change.

I think you are exactly right. No more career politicians. Anybody with any ounce of goodness and heart will do.

That is because it is a private forum thread. Just subscribe and you can participate to that thread as well as others.
